Adopted 1988. A solid green background, highlighted gold feather and a blue and white swirl representing the Oxbow. Northampton is in Hampshire County. The Daily Hampshire Gazette showed one of the two flags adopted by Northampton,
Massachusetts. Needless to say, the one that wasn't delivered (the 1988 adopted version) to the state (and shown on the page) is much better than the description of the one that was presented to the state. The other flag of the city: the city seal - a collage of gods, goddesses, silk moths, City Hall, the Holyoke Range and farmland, representing the many facets of city history. Background not reported.
