Granted on 19 December 1986.
Ulvik municipality is situated in Hordaland county.
An ornament consisting of eight lozenges in a rosette is a familiar feature of local arts and crafts,
both in wood carving and in textiles. It is also found on the folk costumes of the area.
Therefore, the municipality of Ulvik chose this design for its arms and flag. The eight
lozenges are in yellow on a field of red. Official grant was given 19 December 1986.
The designer was Stein Davidsen.

Note that the Norwegian blazon is in Nynorsk, one of the two official written versions of Norwegian.
The other version is Bokmål. Nynorsk is the minority version, but official documents, even
Royal resolutions, may be written in either.
