Adoption of the Montenegro naval flags

The new flags and emblems of the Army of Montenegro, including the naval jack and ensign, were adopted on 25 June 2010 by the Government of Montenegro (announcement on the Army official website) with the Ordinance on the emblems of the Army, the General Staff and the units of the Army of Montenegro (Uredba o oznakama Vojske, Generalštaba i jedinica Vojske Crne Gore).
According to the Analitika information portal, the 29 new flags prescribed by the Ordinance, presented during a press conference held on 28 July 2010 (report on the Army official website), were to be ceremonially issued to the units on 7 October 2010 (Day of the Army of Montenegro) by the President Filip Vujanović. The article mentioned the names of some people who participated in the design of the symbols - Colonel Čedo Marinović, Chairman of the Ordinance Workgroup, who highlighted that the group woked following the heraldic principles, and Lieutenant Colonel Miroljub Atanasijević.

Naval Ensign

The naval ensign is shown with proportions 2:5, blue with a white fouled anchor over three white wavy lines in lower fly and the national flag, with proportions 1:2, in canton. This makes the fly part wider than the hoist part, with the emblem seemingly centered in the fly part.

The ensign's (anchor) emblem is shown at 7/12 of flag width high, and is illustrated at slightly under 1/3 of the fly across (29/90 to be exact) - although an even number was probably intended.

Naval Jack

The naval jack is shown as a square version of the national flag with the red field replaced with blue. However, the border (10% of the hoist) seems to be double the width of what one would expect from a simply "squared" national flag (5% of the hoist) - although the eagle retains the size as it would have in the matching hoist size national flag.
