Feldkirchen Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The shield is divided per pale into blue and silver (= white). On the dexter side are a golden (= yellow) scallop (above) and a silver (= white) bend sinister (below). The sinister side displays a blue orb.
The scallop is an attribute of St. James, the patron saint of the local parish church in the fields, the name giver of the village. The orb is alluding to one of the oldest Prostestant municipalities in Bavaria. Elector, since 1806 King, Max I Joseph supported the settlement of Protestant colonists from the Palatine west bank of river Rhine. They were called "Überrheiner". The colours blue and white are emphasizing the close connections with the Wittelsbach kin.

The flag was approved on 30 October 1995. The coat of arms was approved on 18 March 1970 by Bavarian ministry of interior.
