Coat of arms

Description of coat of arms:
The golden (= yellow) shield is divided by two red bars. The bars are superimposed by a silver (=white) well masoned black, which is topped by three reeds of the same colour.
According to source the basic colours are symbolizing the counts of Oldenburg. The well is symbolizing an ancient well located in the village, which had been established in the early 10th century. It is also symbolizing the importance of the spa facilities of the municipality. The reed is symbolizing the marshes around the municipality.
